Jeremiah Evarts, head of Evening Sales in New York, joined Sotheby’s Impressionist and Modern Art team in 2005 and has been working actively since then with high-profile collectors at Sotheby’s. He is responsible for sourcing works of art for the Sales of Impressionist and Modern Art in New York, London and Paris and has played a vital role in Sotheby’s global dominance of this market sector in recent years. Mr. Evarts became a specialist in the Evening Sale team of Impressionist and Modern Art in 2012 and since then has been centrally involved in highly successful consignments including that of Picasso’s Mousquetaire à la pipe which sold for $31 million and currently holds the auction record for a late work by the artist; works from the collection of the late Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. which totaled over $35 million at auction; eleven works from the Jerome H. Stone collection which totaled $57.8 million in May 2015 and most recently works from the Collection of Ambassador John L. Loeb. After attending St. Paul’s School, he graduated from Columbia University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s in Art History and recently completed his Master’s in Art History, with a focus on twentieth century Art, at Hunter College in New York.
