NEW YORK – R.M. Williams and Sotheby's came together on 14 September to celebrate art and preview the upcoming Contemporary Curated and Contemporary Art Online auctions. While shopping the Australian brand’s signature boots, guests browsed sale highlights – including works by Alexander Calder and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

The highlight of the event was a conversation between Emily Kaplan,  Head of Contemporary Curated, and artist Mika Utzon Popov, who was commissioned by R.M. Williams to create installations for their new store. A tasting of Australian wines picked by Sotheby’s Retail Wine Buyer Nicholas Jackson, such as Shaw and Smith Sauvignon Blanc and Penfolds Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon, topped off the evening.

The next night, the party moved to Sotheby's, where guests attending the opening of S|2's psychedelic Henry Hudson: Sun City Tanning exhibition enjoyed a pop-up R.M. Williams store by the gallery. Click below for scenes from both events.
