“White was, for Scheggi, not so much a “colourless” matrix […] but rather a privileged place for a luminosity that is the inner energy itself of the space of the work” Francesca Pola Exhibition Catalogue, London, Robilant and Voena, Paolo Scheggi: The Humanistic Measurement of Space, 2014, p. 75
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality tends more towards a warm white in the original.
This work is in very good condition and has been cleaned. There is evidence of light wear and handling to the corners, and very thin and stable tension cracks along the overturn edges. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
