32mo (3 7/8 x 2 1/2 in.; 98 x 64 mm). Engraved frontispiece and title, plus 6 engraved plates, 10-page publisher's advertisement paginated "151-160." Original Dutch floral boards; upper hinge neatly repaired, lower portion of backstrip gone. In a red half-morocco slipcase.

Description

The first edition to be published by the Newberys, evidently unique, and dated by Roscoe to "not before 1768." The title and collation he gives under (1A) is the same as the present copy (though with only 5 plates), and he states "perhaps = no. (1)."
