Description

Hieronymus Bosch was one of the most original and imaginative artists of the Northern Renaissance. He was celebrated for his fantastic and vivid imagery that illustrated moral and religious narratives. His pessimistic and humorous vision of the human condition is translated in this scene. The 'ship of fools' powerfully exemplifies sin and depravity.
