Prints & Multiples

Sotheby’s October Prints & Multiples auction will feature an extensive selection of seminal works spanning the 20th century. Leading the sale are twenty-one lots from the Collection of David Teiger, sold to benefit the Teiger Foundation for the Support of Contemporary Art, including Jasper John’s extremely rare set of screenprints, Cicada. Other highlights include: Richard Diebenkorn’s monumental etching, Green; Jacqueline Lisant, Pablo Picasso’s quiet and touching portrait of his wife and muse, Jacqueline Roque; and Andy Warhol’s Shoes, a striking example of Warhol’s fascination with the world of fashion. The auction will culminate with works published by Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, including prints by celebrated Contemporary artists Vija Celmins, Chuck Close, and George Condo.
