Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale

Sotheby’s Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale on 15 November features a broad array of paintings, works on paper and sculptures by the leading artists of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Highlights include a formidable array of vibrantly painted Fauve and German Expressionist oils by Vlaminck, van Dongen, Othon Friesz, and Pechstein, as well as a strong showing of Surrealist paintings and works on paper by artists including Miró, Dalí and Man Ray. The sale also features fresh-to-the-market Symbolist and Nabis works by Bonnard, Serusier, Redon and Lacombe, Impressionist paintings by such artists as Sisley, Pissarro, Picabia, Loiseau, Renoir, Boudin and Le Sidaner, and a particularly impressive group of sculpture, including major works by Nabis sculptor Maillol, Modern British artists Moore and Chadwick, and Cubist Henri Laurens from the remarkable collection of Joan Oestreich Kend.
