Sotheby’s February wine auction begins with the launch of Ornellaia Archivio Storico, a release of mature vintages for auction direct from Ornellaia. Vintages include 1994 to 2001, 2004 and 2006 in formats from bottle to Imperial. In addition, Sotheby’s will be exclusively offering ten lots of the inaugural Ornellaia Bianco 2013. The sale continues with a 300 lot consignment from a longtime friend of Sotheby’s whose collection features rare bottle sizes including half bottles of Haut Brion 1989, Cheval Blanc 2000, Gruaud Larose 1982 and Musigny from Comte George de Vogüé 1993 as well as large formats of Margaux, Mouton Rothschild, Palmer, Gaja and Domaine Ponsot. Other sale highlights feature extremely rare double magnums of Sine Qua Non and one of a kind three liter bottles of Walla Walla cult producer Cayuse to benefit the Philadelphia Library Company.
