A broad survey of over nearly two centuries of porcelain production in Russia, the important private collection of Russian and Soviet porcelain included in this sale provides a vivid insight into the psyche of a people over a period of considerable change. Property from other collections is led by an impressive Fabergé silver casket showing Pushkin’s Ruslan and Ludmila, from a small group of silver objects specially produced by Fabergé in homage to Russia’s great epic fairy tales.
