This spring sale season of wine sales in Hong Kong open with the ninth instalment of this extraordinary collection, with the million with a total of 5,288lots sold. The last seven auctions from this collection took place in Hong Kong were 100% sold. This sale is in part a celebration of the finest Bordeaux – all First Growth and Super Seconds, in addition to the top properties from the right bank, including Pétrus, Cheval Blanc and Lafleur. These are joined by significant parcels of Champagne (many in large format) of Louis Roederer Cristal, Dom Péignon and Veuve Cliquot La Grande Dame. The sale is rounded out by a wide variety of the stellar Californian wines, such as Harlan Estate, Shafer Hillside Select, Dominus, Opus One, Joseph Phelps Insignia, all the best vintages and multiple formats.

Sotheby's Hong Kong opens spring sale series 2012 with 100%-sold wine auction. The Classic Cellar from a Great American Collector IX brings over HK$20 million / US$2.6 million, surpassing pre-sale high estmate (HK$18.3 million / US$2.3 million*).
The Classic Cellar from a Great American Collector has become the highest-value single-owner wine collection sold by Sotheby’s, with a cumulative total of HK$353 million / US$45.2 million.
