Her knowledge of the auction business and extensive network of client contacts have helped place the Tokyo office in the unique position of working with avid collectors of both traditional and Contemporary art.

Ms Nagasawa had first joined Sotheby’s Japan in 1994 as a client service representative liaising for major consignments from Japan. She was named General Manager of the office in 1999, overseeing the Tokyo team with a focus on corporate, financial and private collections. She left Sotheby's in 2001 to work for a prestigious American insurance company for five years, developing their high net worth marketing activities in Japan, before returning to Sotheby's in 2005.

Ms Nagasawa was born in Tokyo, but was raised in New York City. She attended Sophia University in Tokyo, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Culture.
