Angela McAteer joined the London Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art department at Sotheby's in 2011. Before joining, Ms McAteer had worked at Bonhams as a Chinese art specialist for 3 ½ years and prior to that had lived and studied in Beijing for one year. Her particular interests include Seventeenth century porcelain, snuff bottles and scholarly works of art.
Ms McAteer earned a Bachelor's degree in Chinese Studies from Durham University and a Master's degree in Chinese Art and Archaeology from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London and speaks Mandarin and French.
