Marie-Jo joined Sotheby’s in 2006 in the Amsterdam office and joined Sotheby’s Canada in 2008. In her role as a Canadian art specialist, she works closely with private and institutional clients coordinating consignments and acquisitions. Marie-Jo also conducts private sales for Canadian and international art, and works with buyers and sellers in Sotheby’s international salesrooms across all departments.
In 2014, Marie-Jo helped bring Canadian art to New York through the landmark S|2 selling exhibition, Canadian Abstraction. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art History from Concordia University and a Master’s degree in Contemporary Art and Design Connoisseurship from Christie’s Education in London, England. Marie-Jo is fluent in French and Italian and has a working knowledge of Dutch.
