Elena Ratcheva works on consignments and appraisals for new and established clients with a particular focus on developing collections. She also plays a central role in research and catalogue production for Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sales.

Ms Ratcheva has more than ten years’ experience in the auction world both in New York and the United Kingdom and is a trained auctioneer. She previously held the position of Head of Sale in Modern British Art in Christie’s, London, and was an Impressionist and Modern art specialist in another international auction house in New York. Having served as a curatorial intern at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, she began her auction career in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her knowledge extends beyond Impressionist and Modern Art to include British Impressionist, Scottish Colourist and Contemporary Scottish art.  During her career she has been involved in the highly successful auctions of the Drambuie and Deloitte Art Collections, the collection of Peter Langan as well as the American portion of the Lehman Brothers Art Collection.

Ms Ratcheva holds a degree in the History of Art from Cambridge University and a Masters in 19th-Century French Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London.
