A cosmopolitan Jewish woman whose life was upended by war, exile and loss, Kati Horna embraced photography as a tool for subsistence, political engagement and creative expression. This fall, Sotheby’s Los Angeles S|2 presents Fantastic Rediscovered: Rare Photographs from the Estate of Kati Horna. Trained in Budapest under the renowned Hungarian master József Pécsi, Horna developed a truly idiosyncratic style that reflected her exposure to an array of movements and environments.
