In the hills overlooking Aspen, Amy and John Phelan hosted WineCrush, the kick-off event to Aspen Art Museum’s annual ArtCrush event. “Every year, this event gets better,” said AAM director Heidi Zuckerman. “The food gets better, the décor gets better, and the people that come get better.” Artists Adam McEwen, Richard Phillips, and Nir Hod joined Sotheby’s Tad Smith and the Sotheby's Board of Directors, as well as some of the world’s most prominent art collectors (the Magoons, the Marxes, Eugenio Lopez, the Sanders, the Rohatyns and the Meltzers), for a wild evening of philanthropic fun. “It’s like a family dinner, but it’s also a fundraiser for us,” said Zuckerman. Guests enjoyed elk loin, late-night karaoke, and the finest of wines – including an aged-to-perfection 1986 Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou – served up by master sommelier Jay Fletcher.
