A new world record for any jewellery auction was set in Geneva when the "Unique Pink" diamond led the Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels sale to a total CHF 171.1 million. The spectacular "Unique Pink" also set a new world record for a stone of its type. In addition to recieving the highest possible colour grading for a pink diamond from the Gemological Institute of America, the "Unique Pink" has been found to be Type IIa, displaying "exceedingly pure structure."
