For 40 years, Alberto Giacometti and his brother Diego worked in adjacent studios in Paris, where they moved from their native Switzerland in 1922. The two were extremely close. They inspired each other's creative output – Diego was his older brother’s most frequent model – and shared a deep respect for craft. Click ahead to read more about their collaborative years in Paris and to see highlights of their works that feature in the upcoming Design sale on 24 May.
Also this spring, two major Alberto Giacometti exhibitions, one at the Yuz Museum in Shanghai and the other at Sainsbury Centre in England, commemorate the 50th anniversary of his death.
