The Impressionist & Modern Art Evening sale confirmed the strength of the market for masterworks. Leading the results was Picasso’s pioneering 1909 portrait Femme assise, which sold for £43.3 million – a new record for any Cubist work and the highest price for any painting sold in London since 2010. Another record was set for a portrait by Amedeo Modigliani, whose Jeanne Hébuterne (au foulard) sold for £38.5 million. Click ahead to see other sale-topping works by Gauguin, Munch, Giacometti and more.
