In Dubai, a Celebration of Middle Eastern Contemporary Art

To coincide with Dubai's Art Week, Sotheby's, in partnership with Rolls Royce and Harper’s Bazaar Art Arabia, hosted a preview last night of Modern and Contemporary Art from the Middle East. The art included works by some of today’s most celebrated artists from the region, including Monir Farmanfarmaian, Farhad Moshiri and Shakir Hassan Al-Said. They will be auctioned at Sotheby’s London during a week dedicated to Arab and Iranian art, from 15–22 April. Sotheby’s event took place in Dubai's International Financial Centre (DIFC), home to several galleries that opened their doors as part of Art Nights @ Gate Village, a twice-yearly celebration of arts and culture bringing together established and emerging artists, designers, photographers and musicians. —Jack Thomas Taylor
