6 Andy Warhol Album Covers

Andy Warhol designed his first record cover shortly after he moved to New York in 1949. Later, when his output was dominated by silkscreen prints and depictions of celebrities, the artist continued to design record covers for music legends, including Thelonius Monk, John Cale, John Lennon and Debbie Harry. Each cover marks a step in his artistic development, from the signature “blotted-line” technique of his early work to his famed Pop art creations. Here are five of the Warhol-designed album covers that are being offered at Sotheby's London this September.
