NEW YORK, 2 May 2012 - It took just over twelve minutes for Edvard Munch’s ‘The Scream’ to sell for $119.9 million in the Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale, setting the new world record price for any work for art at auction.  At least eight bidders competed for the iconic masterpiece, which commanded the world’s attention over the past several weeks.  After the sale, the previous owner of the work, Norwegian businessman Petter Olsen, took a moment to speak to a group of international media and share his views on both the work and the auction.
