LONDON - This spectacular collection features more than a century of classic Bordeaux, Sauternes and Burgundy from the past century.
A SELECTION OF CHATEAU MOUTON ROTHSCHILD.
One of the great attractions is the sheer breadth of vintages of Classed Growth Bordeaux. Château Lafite sets the tone with no fewer than 24 vintages, opening the sale with a single bottle of the rare 1903. The selection of Château Mouton Rothschild features an equally impressive array of vintages, beginning with the coveted 1928, one of the stars of the 20th century. Châteaux Latour, Margaux, and Haut Brion are also well represented on this journey through the decades, as are the top Right Bank properties. Château Cheval Blanc makes its presence felt particularly in the 1995 vintage with impressive Imperials and Double Magnums – perfect for large format aficionados! And for the ultimate tasting comparison, there is the stunning Le Pin 1995.
A SELECTION OF CHÂTEAU D’YQUEM.
Sauternes is dominated by Château d’Yquem in the superb trio of vintages – 1988, 1989 and 1990 – from tempting half bottles to decadent Double Magnums, Jeroboams and Imperials.
A SELECTION OF DOMAINE DE LA ROMANÉE CONTI’S LA TÂCHE.
Prized Burgundy includes Domaine de la Romanée Conti’s La Tâche and Richebourg 1972 in their original wooden cases; a magnum of Echézeaux 1989 from Henri Jayer and Armand Rousseau is represented by four of his Grand Crus together with the Clos Saint Jacques – all from the 1986 vintage.
Amassed over many years and professionally stored, these wines were purchased either directly from the châteaux and domains or from reputable wine merchants with the vast majority of Bordeaux offered in original wooden cases.
