LONDON - This year marks 150 years since the birth of Nobel prize-winning poet William Butler Yeats. But I want to take the time to remember another talented member of the family – Jack Butler Yeats –William’s younger brother. His contribution to the Irish visual arts equals that of William’s to Irish literature. This sale features a number of works by JB Yeats that chart his extraordinary career. From early illustrations to later, dazzling oils, they demonstrate his unique and visionary talent and the vital role he played, alongside his brother, in the development of 20th century Irish culture.
