Oscar Peterson was by all measures a titan of jazz. Over his prolific career, Peterson released more than 200 recordings and garnered eight Grammy Awards. In celebration of what would have been the great pianist’s 90th birthday, Sotheby’s and Warner Music Denmark are selling a unique single-issue album titled “Take Me Home” in the Rock & Pop auction on 29 September in London. Recorded by The Oscar Peterson Legacy Quartet, the album features ten previously unrecorded and unreleased tunes including four Peterson originals. The group is comprised of acclaimed Danish jazz pianist Niels Lan Doky, plus all three original members of Peterson’s final group: guitarist Ulf Wakenius, bassist Dave Young and drummer Alvin Queen.
