Celebrated interior designer Nicky Haslam’s A Designer’s Life (Jacqui Small) is an archive of inspired design and décor, revealing not only the origins of his opulent, timeless and highly original interiors, but also – with characteristic wit and charm – giving personal insight into the art of living well.

David Dawson’s latest book A Painter’s Progress (Jonathan Cape) draws on his unique position as the assistant, companion and model to Lucian Freud for a period of nearly 20 years. Dawson’s photographs reveal the working life of this famously reclusive artist; visits from the likes of David Hockney, Frank Auerbach and Kate Moss; Freud’s extraordinary personal collection; and, finally, the hanging of Freud's work in his posthumous London exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery.
