'Minerva,' a Mosaic panel by Leopold Forstner, 1878-1936. Estimate £5,000–8,000.

LONDON – The theme for this panel is a variant of Gustav Klimt’s 1898 work Pallas Athene, and it was revisited by Forstner in a larger mosaic panel he made for his own workshop in Vienna. This panel, however, is believed to have been presented by Klimt to the designer Koloman Moser for his housewarming at Hohen Warte, a house designed by Josef Hoffmann in 1903.
