From silk carpets in a Turkish bazaar to Neoclassical antiques uncovered in Paris’s Marché aux Puces, the treasures we discover – or bring – along our journeys often end up marking the trip. Wanderlust is an online sale of furniture and decorative arts dedicated to the life and spirit of the traveller.

Organized by country – and from destinations as far-reaching as China, Russia and Finland – the pieces offered in this auction are both mementos of past adventures and portable objects crafted for a nomadic lifestyle. Silver highlights include an early George III small-scale epergne with its original leather travelling case and a 19th century English snuff box mounted with a micromosaic of the Colosseum – a souvenir that would have been acquired while on the Italian Grand Tour. A sedan chair, a campaign chest of drawers for wartime camps and Orientalist 19th century sculptures will also be offered.

Timed bidding for this auction will end on Saturday, 16 April at 12:00 PM EDT. The exhibition in New York will be on view starting 9 April. For more information on how to bid in this auction, please visit our FAQ page.
