Shaping a Legacy: Sculpture from the Finn Family Collection

By Sotheby's

Sotheby’s is honored to present Shaping a Legacy: Sculpture from the Finn Family Collection in our upcoming Evening sale of Impressionist & Modern Art on 16 May. Over the course of more than 50 years, David and Laura Finn together have amassed a diverse and esteemed collection of modern sculpture. David Finn, the co-founder of famed public-relations firm Ruder Finn, was also a renowned photographer who formed a close personal relationship with Henry Moore. Mr. Finn photographed and published Moore's sculptures over a number of decades, playing a vital role in expanding the artist’s audience internationally. He acquired his first work by Moore in 1958 and later successfully sought works by other modern artists, including Alberto Giacometti, Marino Marini, Jean Arp and Germaine Richier.

Highlights from the collection will be shown in London and Hong Kong this spring, before returning to New York for public exhibition beginning 5 May.
