Zhang Xiaogang’s Bloodline: The Big Family No.3, 1995.

HONG KONG - The lead up to Sotheby’s Hong Kong Spring sales follows the hype and celebration of last year’s 40th Anniversary Evening Sale, which established twelve world auction records in modern and contemporary Asian art. The sales series will include Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art, Fine Chinese Paintings, Contemporary Asian Art, Contemporary Literati, 20th Century Chinese Art, Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings, Jewellery, Watches and Wines.

As we move closer to the events, hard work has started paying off – excitement at the Hong Kong office has been building after when we learnt the good news of having an opportunity to present some of the greatest works of contemporary Chinese art including Zhang Xiaogang’s Bloodline: The Big Family No.3 (1995), SanYu’s Potted Chrysanthemums (circa 1950s) and the Hutton-Mdivani jadedite bead necklace, among others.

Selected highlights will be showcased in travelling exhibitions in Jakarta (28 February - 2 March), Shanghai (5 - 6 March), Beijing (8 - 9 March), Singapore (15 - 16 March), Taipei (22 - 23 March), Tokyo (25 - 26 March) and Kaohsiung (25 - 26 March), followed by a public exhibition of all properties on offer at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 3 to 7 April.
