View of the exhibition at Sotheby’s Paris
PARIS - It was an honour and pleasure to welcome Vogue to our premises at Galerie Charpentier, to hold a charity auction in aid of UNESCO project Fashion 4 Development, founded by Bibi Russell in 1996.
Editor of Italian Vogue, Franca Sozzani, is a goodwill ambassador for the charity and, in celebration of five years of L’Uomo Vogue, the sale consisted of 40 photographs from the famous Condé Nast monthly, which made €118,600.
With bidders from across the fashion world – Jean Paul Gaultier, Ines de la Fressange, Renzo Rosso among many others –impressive portraits of Keith Richards and of Michael Jackson, which provoked much emotion, were particularly appreciated.
