AUBURN, INDIANA - I guess this is it. A new beginning, you could say. I was born in 1960 in a small German town called Regensburg. Even now, cars are made nearby, but my designers were some of the first in the region.
I was originally conceived as a vehicle that would be easy to handle for drivers with wartime injuries, and that's why instead of a steering wheel I've got an upside-down 'U', which twists in and out as it turns. My design is the last in a long line of improvements. There are other F.M.R.s – they have three wheels – but fellow Tigers have four. It's so we can corner more quickly… and I can't lie and say I don't enjoy flying down a winding road.
But that's for my next owner and me to enjoy, I suppose. I just hope I end up somewhere warm…America is getting cold this time of year (and I don't have a heater…)
