The 1964 Ferrari 250LM is moved from Sotheby’s lobby to the 10th floor galleries in the middle of the night.

NEW YORK - The galleries here at Sotheby’s that just days ago were filled with Picassos and Warhols were transformed over the weekend by the installation of rare and exotic motorcars in our 10th floor galleries. Never before in the history of Sotheby’s has such a spectacular group of automobiles been offered for sale.

Thanks to the brilliance of Ian Kelleher of RM Auctions who designed the exhibition, each car will be presented so that its styling and special attributes can be truly appreciated, placing each car within its historical context. These masterworks are displayed as true works of art with individualized treatments including custom-made platforms, historic imagery and film. The magnificent 1964 Ferrari 250LM, which was moved overnight from its place in the lobby to the 10th floor gallery, will be beautifully illuminated in its own light box, surrounded by images showing its illustrious racing history.
