LOS ANGELES – The Magic of Persia Foundation are holding a second Contemporary Iranian Art Week in Los Angeles with a series of events from 12–15 September.

The week includes a group exhibition and auction of artworks donated by contemporary Iranian artists to the Friends of MOP Foundation, as well as a panel discussion and film premiere to be held at the Brown Auditorium at LACMA.

The exhibition (13–15 September) is held once again in collaboration with Sotheby's and the opening reception will be attended by acclaimed Iranian artist, Fereydoun Ave. As well as a spectacular work the artist has donated to the charity, and three lithographs created by HIM Farah Pahlavi (including the work below), the exhibition will feature artwork by 20 emerging and established Iranian artists. An auction will be conducted by Andrea Fiuczynski, Chairman of the Americas for Sotheby's. To participate in the auction via an absentee bid, please contact darya@mopfoundation.com by 12 September 2016.

The panel discussion (13 September), which is co-organised with the Art of the Middle East Department at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), aims to explore the influence and yet understudied phenomena of multi-dimensionality in the practice of Fereydoun Ave. The artist will be joined in the discussion by Roxane Zand, Deputy Chairman, Middle East and Gulf Region, Sotheby's, Dr Shiva Balaghi, Independant Scholar and Curator and Tony Shafrazi, Artist and Gallerist.

This event will also feature an exclusive premiere of the documentary 7 Days Out Of 70 Springs, a documented experience of Fereydoun Ave, by Iranian filmmakers Omid Bonakdar, Arash Zahedi-Asl and Keivan Alimohammadi.
