PARIS – In their lifetime, René and Odette Delenne assembled a stunning collection of African and Oceanic art. The Belgian couple purchased their first African work after visiting the Congolese pavilion at the Brussels World’s Fair in 1958, an event that made a lasting impression on them. They travelled to the Congo, the first in a series of journeys that would lead them to acquire fascinating objects in every corner of the world. Like any other great collection, the Delenne Collection speaks of the personality and vision of the individuals who built and cherished it over many years.
