Sotheby’s is honoured to present memorabilia offered without reserve from the personal collection of creative genius and television legend Samuel "Sam" Simon (1955-2015). Proceeds from the sale of this collection will benefit the Sam Simon Charitable Giving Foundation, which supports animal welfare programs and poverty alleviation and disaster relief organizations. This dedicated auction will offer a unique window to Simon’s colourful life including: personal illustrations, drawings and comics, reaching as far back as his comic strip in the Beverly Hills High School newspaper; boxing-related material such as a rare signed letter from Jack Johnson to Jim Jeffries; material from the many television shows Simon worked on, such as a circa 1990 The Simpsons Data East Pinball Machine; and more personal effects, including rejection letters from Esquire, Playboy and Time.

With talent and taste, Sam elevated the lowly cartoon show to the top tier of TV comedy.
