S ince Sotheby's Singapore office opened in 1985, it has become a valuable resource for local clients and our global business.
In August 2022, Sotheby’s held its first modern and contemporary art auction in Singapore in 15 years to resounding success, exceeding pre-sale estimates to achieve SG$24.5 million (US$18 million), the highest total for any sale held by Sotheby’s in the city to date. The sale brought rare and sought after masterpieces by international artists as well as artists from the Southeast Asia region, such as Walter Spies, Willem Gerard Hofker, Yayoi Kusama, Chu Teh Chun and Fernando Botero, and set new auction records for pioneering Singaporean artist Georgette Chen and Luxembourgish artist Michel Majerus.
With the help of Sotheby's international experts in all areas of fine and decorative art, jewellery, wine, books and collectibles, we are able to assist you if you have questions regarding buying or selling, or wish to have an object from your collection valued. If you wish to enquire about the possibility of offering a work for sale, please call the office prior to visiting. The Singapore office is also happy to facilitate absentee bids or arrange for the shipment of consigned or purchased property.
