Catalogue Note

In this "photo-engraved reprint" of the author's doctoral thesis, Fisher proposed the construction of an analog computing device using water and floating objects to illustrate his ideas. The recipient, Frank Richardson Garfield (1901-2000) was Assistant Professor of Economics in the University of North Carolina, co-author of the textbook Problem Economics (New York 1928).
