Paula Cooper Gallery, New York Acquired by the present owner from the above in 2003
"From the time I began making art, I felt my work was never authored exclusively by me and was always acutely aware of the presence of other artists in everything I made. Initially I considered that a problem, but at a certain point I embraced it as unavoidable–and in a sense that was the beginning for me." Sherrie Levine
This work is in very good condition overall. There are faint surface scratches scattered throughout, which are visible under raking light. There are scattered surface irregularities, which are most noticeable in the crevices and are inherent to the work. In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
