The book is very important in my work. It is a repertoire of shapes and a way to materialize the passing of time. For me, a stream is running in every book; building a wave that I make visible when I turn the pages or stage them.
The colours are fairly accurate in the printed catalogue illustration although the overall tonality is lighter and does not accurately convey the 3 dimensional aspect and thickness of the medium. Please refer to the department for images of all pages.
The work is composed of a collage of clay and hair on painted cardboard bound by burlap.
Few Imperfections in the collage such as traces of glue, cracks and stains are in keeping with the artist technique and chosen medium.
There are some small losses to the thicker clay areas in the book.
This work is in very good original condition.
