"A lot of my art is about violence and crime. The bullet holes were a good opportunity to have the cultural things that I'm interested in come together... It was a step in a different direction. I still wanted it to be about stuff, not just be like 'this looks like art and it's on the wall' I wanted it to have content." Nate Lowman in conversation with Asher Penn, in: Bad Day Magazine, Issue 5, Summer 2009, online
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate.
This work is in very good condition. Extremely close inspection reveals some very light wear to some of the tips of the canvas with a few associated tiny and stable cracks on some of the overturn edges, which are consistent with the artist's choice of medium and working process. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
