Catalogue Note

From 1873 to 1877, Jongkind spent all summers in the Dauphiné region, in a house near the château de Pupetières. In 1878 he moved to La-Côte-Saint-André, also in the Dauphiné.  He loved the beautiful landscapes and the inhabitants of this region and designated himself as a "peasant from Dauphiné".
