Description

  • René Boivin
Designed as flowerheads, the petals set with oval-shaped citrines, the leaves highlighted by round garnets, unsigned, with French assay and workshop marks; circa 1960s.

Condition

In good condition, with light scratches to the mounting. With French assay marks and stamped 750 for 18 karat gold. With workshop marks 'RD' for Davière, a maker for Boivin. The citrines are a medium light slightly brownish yellow color, eye-clean to moderately included, well matched in color. The garnets range from medium light to medium slightly yellowish green color, slightly to moderately included with surface abrasions, not readily apparent when worn. The darker green-hued stone at the tip of leaf on the left earclip of later replacement, possibly glass. Although the Certificate of Authenticity states the green stones as peridots, we have determined them to be garnets based on our first-hand inspection. Length approximately 1⅜ inches. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Françoise Cailles.
