  • Height 4 3/4  in. (12 cm.)
seated in vajraparyankasana on a double lotus base, with the right hand held in bhumisparamudra, signifying the moment of Buddha's enlightenment, and the left hand resting elegantly in dhyanamudra, the sanghati chased with a floral scroll motif at the hem and falling in folds over the left shoulder, the elongated earlobes suspended over the shoulders, the face with serene expression, the head and domed ushnisha covered with tight curls Himalayan Art Resources item no. 13611.

Condition

Overall good condition. With some wear to the gilding, particularly to the cheeks, as visible in catalogue illustration. Accretion most visible along the lower half of the torso and inside and around the folded legs of the figure. A minor dent along the bottom most part of the base in the backside of the sculpture. Base plate sealed.
