  • Diameter 9 1/8  in., 23.2 cm
each jardinière of lobed oval section set over six ruyi-form feet, the exterior sides built up in base layers of ocher, below central layers of black, and upper layers of red carved through revealing a polychrome design, each lobe centered with a shaped cartouche enclosing the 'hundred antiques' against a dense network of scrolling lotus, a band of keyfret wrapping the rim, the interior lacquered brown, each stand similarly lobed and supported on six cabriole legs set between a shaped apron above and a conforming stretcher below, the polychrome lacquer surface similarly carved with scrolling lotus and geometric motifs (4)

Condition

Each vessel and each stand stable, with scattered minor and small areas of restoration to the extremities of the carving and to each of the feet. With cracks to the consolidated black lacquer interiors and minor scattered age splits throughout. Two old labels adhered to the base of each vessel.
