Provenance

Acquired from Victor Audubon in 1850 by the City of New York;
Sotheby's, New York, John James Audubon The Birds of America, October 18-19, 1985, sale 5373, lot 336, with the accompanying certificate of Provenance signed by Mayor Edward I. Koch.

Condition

The print is in good condition apart from some minor soiling in the blank areas and edges. Tears and stitch holes along disbound edge and some nicks, tears and small losses in the edges, the largest at lower left sheet edge. Faint foxing, mainly apparent on verso.
