Description

Swing-set with a cabochon emerald weighing approximately 27.47 carats, within a double border of millegrain-set cushion-shaped diamonds, to a similarly set surmount modelled as a bow and later chain necklace, length approximately 420mm, British hallmarks.

Condition

Accompanied by Report no. 16648 from the Gem & Pearl laboratory, dated 7th December 2018, stating that the emerald measuring 25-26 x 16-17 x 9.1mm and calculated to weigh approximately 27.47 carats is of Colombian origin with indications of moderate clarity enhancement. Later chain with British hallmark for 18 carat gold. Pendant unsigned. Emerald with minor surface-reaching fissures. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 1.50 - 2.00 carats. Central diamond in outer border deficient, possibly original to the design to allow for hinge movement. Overall measurements of pendant approximately 48 x 28mm, gross weight approximately 20.3 grams. Light discoloration to metal consistent with age. Case stamped Lucie Campbell London.
