Condition
Examined in the frame. Original unlined condition, on an oval canvas, with one patch adhered to reverse. The surface presents well and appears bright, aside from minor surface dust and barely visible craquelure on the girl's face and hands. Under UV: there is a green fluorescing varnish, of which the girl's face appears to have been cleaned, and darker fluorescing varnish on the cat. There is one retouch on the girl's forehead; dashed retouches near upper center edge; and a 1/2 inch dash of inpainting in background at lower right (corresponding to aforementioned patch).
