The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.: This work is unlined at present. However, there are four areas of damage that have been restored. There is a horizontal break of about 6 inches in the upper left. The retouches here are quite extravagant, and the entire cloud group is not original. There is also a restored thin complex break in the canvas above and within the top of the big tree on the right, running about 12 inches in total. Within the landscape itself, there is no abrasion or damage, except for two areas of restoration in the lower right which do not interfere with the signature or date.
