Condition

This work is in good condition overall. The canvas is unlined. There is evidence of wear and handling to the corners and turning edges resulting in a few tears and losses to the canvas as well as losses to the pigment along the perimeter. There are scattered surface scuffs, scratches and minor abrasions resulting in minor losses to the pigment. Under close inspection, there are stretcher bar impressions 2 inches from the perimeter of the canvas, most prominently at the top horizontal edge. Under very close inspection, there is evidence of scattered, stable pigment craquelure to the surface. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, there are two small areas which fluoresce darkly at the lower left corner and the center right vertical turning edge, which could possibly be as a result of light retouching. Framed.
